The Lodge

Self Catering Cottage in West Cork with Three Bedrooms

The Lodge is a beautifully restored holiday home in a private setting with far reaching views over farmland, water and woods.

This holiday home is ideal for families with its:

• private garden and paddock
• open fireplace
• sunroom
• large living area
• modern kitchen

This newly built two storey home has been constructed on the site of an earlier ruined cottage whose stone has been used to face the new lodge.

The Lodge is situated on the highest part of the estate in a half acre garden. It is a short walk to the sports complex, consisting of an indoor swimming pool, steam and exercise rooms.

The Lodge Holiday Home comprises:

• a large open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen (39ft. by 20ft. / 12 m. by 6m.)
• a sun room
• a double bedroom
• two twin bedrooms
• two bathrooms
• utility room with washing and drying machines

The state of the art kitchen is equiped with everything you will need to create fantastic gourmet meals with the fresh West Cork produce available in local shops & markets. The kitchen is designed for ease of use and clean-up so you can relax and enjoy your holiday meals. The appliances provided include:

• a Belling cooker
• dishwasher
• microwave

When you want to spend a bit of time indoors to enjoy the comfort within the holiday home, the lounge area features:

• large screen sattelite TV
• video
• sound system

We're sitting in the sun-flooded solarium recalling our historic week at Inish Beg and the West Cork coastal villages.

A long time dream - to visit my paternal grandmother's Irish cottage at the head of Baltimore Harbour with my children and grandchildren - has occurred complete with movie set dwellings of The Lodge with its pastures of horses, cattle and sheep. We walked the sea coast paths, explored the medieval walled acres, visited the family castle, hiked to the top of Lough Hyne. Lunched with Irish cousins - the Leonards of Reengaraga - at the Sibin Pub, found a ring fort replica in Clonakilty - a week of magnifient bounty! Thanks Paul and Georgiana, Everyone was captivated by your charm.

Lovely. Relaxing and Fun time had by all. Star and bat watching by night. Bear and Dinosaur hunting in the woods by day (sadly none found!!!) Happy kids = Happy parents. Thank You.
